Credits taken at a recognized graduate institution under qualified instruction and presented to the registrar by means of graduate transcript and accompanying course descriptions may fulfill the requirements for and replace equivalent credits within a Calvary degree program. Transfer courses must meet the following minimum grade requirements: M.A.(T.S.)/M.A.C.M./M.Div., a grade of C; Th.M. and D.Min., a grade of B. Course credits earned at other recognized theological institutions which meet these above requirements may be accepted at full value when such courses are comparable in content to those offered by CBTS (a correspondence of 80% or greater is desired). Transfer students must meet all the requirements for their degree program to qualify for graduation. All transfer work must be presented by means of (1) a transcript from the institution at which the work was completed and (2) a copy, in English, of the course description from that school's catalog or a course description written by an official representative of that school on the school's letterhead. Students wishing to transfer credit should complete an Application to Transfer Credit. The dean or registrar may choose not to accept credit for transfer courses in which instruction or coursework is believed to be of a level below that of graduate work. Credit earned at another institution through advanced standing or correspondence study is not transferable to CBTS. Credit remaining from courses transferred in increments incompatible with their equivalent courses at CBTS (i.e., a three-credit course transferred in for a two-credit Calvary course) may be accumulated to satisfy general elective requirements. Students who transfer into the Master of Divinity program at CBTS and who desire to transfer in a Greek exegesis course as a substitute for Calvary's NT502 Greek Exegesis are required to take a minimum of two Greek book studies at CBTS; performance in these courses is evaluated by the New Testament department chair to determine whether or not Calvary's NT502 Greek Exegesis will be required. CBTS accepts up to four transfer credits of Clinical Pastoral Education supervised ministry completed at an accredited ACPE teaching site. One unit of CPE (440 hours) counts for four credits transferred into the general elective slots of the M.A./M.A.C.M./Master of Divinity/Certificate programs. |
